The apartment sat on the sixth floor of a mid-rise building in the middle of the city, close enough to the metro that the distant rattle of late trains still reached the windows. It was nothing special, two modest rooms, a narrow kitchen, a bathroom with decent water pressure.
But the rent was eighteen thousand a month, fully furnished, and available immediately. Saurav had paid three months in advance and collected the keys without asking questions.
